On 2nd March 2023, representatives of the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) visited the Permanent Repository for Radioactive Waste near Novi han.
The Greek experts, accompanied by the Chairman of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRA), Tsanko Bachiyski, visited the main facilities in the Controlled Area, including the Hot cell, solid RAW storage facility, hydraulic manipulator, repository for biological RAW, etc.
The visit was part of a two-day visit of the GAEC delegation, led by its president Dr Christos Housiadas, to the NRA. The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience in the field of emergency planning and preparedness, regulation of radioactive waste management, etc.
