At the beginning of December 2014, SERAW specialists were involved in a three days training with a topic Calculation of radioactive contamination of Units 1-4 and the steam generators as part of a international Project 11c Evaluation of the Material Backlog and Radiological Inventory of KNPP Units 1-4. The training was carried out by experts from the Lithuanian Centre for Physical Science and Technology as part of a Joint Venture – a SERAW’s consultant for the Project.
This was the first part of the training course – focused on the theory of the physical and chemical processes which occur during the reactors’ operation and their modeling through OSCAR software. The special software was installed and made available to SERAW. The practical training for modeling with the software by using real data is planned for 29th – 30th January 2015; meanwhile the Bulgarian specialists will use the time to become familiar with the software.
