SE RAW welcomed OECD representatives


A delegation of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) visited facilities of State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SE RAW) in Kozloduy on 29th January 2020. A group of four experts, led by Nobuhiro Muroya, Deputy Director-General of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), met part of SE RAW’s management team. Georgy Razlozhy, Deputy Executive Director, responsible for the RAW Management and Decommissioning, introduced the delegation members with the main fields of SE RAW activities with the current priorities and upcoming projects. Number of questions raised by the OECD representatives put the focus of the discussion that followed on the nuclear decommissioning programme; international knowledge exchange; funding of the RAW management activities; Bulgaria’s long-term prospects in this area; construction of the National Disposal Facility for low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste.
Within their programme in Kozloduy the experts visited SD Units 1-4 Decommissioning and the laboratory complex at the Radiana Site.
The OECD delegation is on three-day official visit in Bulgaria in relation with our country’s application for membership in the NEA.
