A small team of SERAW employees of the Specialised Division Decommissioning Units 1-4 participated in a specialized training conducted from 30 September to 02 October 2014. The three-days course provides knowledge and skills in operating new demolition machinery. The facilities were delivered at the end of September within the project’s scope of the Project Management Unit (PMU).
The machines are compact and will be implemented during the dismantling activities in the premises of Units 1-4. They are powered by electricity and operated remotely which is of significant importance while working in an environment with ionizing radiation. The facilities are equipped with four removable attachments for various activities – concrete breaker, cutter, concrete tongs and metal shears. In addition to these, also sets of wearing parts were delivered ensuring the long operation without any running costs.
