In 2009, State Enterprise Radioactive Waste, in association with beekeepers from the region of Kozloduy, held for the first time a Honey Celebration. The annual occasions of the event, traditionally associated with the Day of St. Charalambos, turned it into an anticipated and beloved experience – both for the participants and visitors.
In 2021, the Honey Celebration will not take place at the end of February as usual, due to the epidemiological situation in the country, restrictions and in view of the requirement of ensuring social distancing in order to prevent infection with COVID-19.
In an effort not to completely cancel the celebration this year, SERAW plans to have it arranged outdoors, in honour of St. Procopius, The Beekeeper, who is traditionally honoured on 8th July. In case of favourable situation for the event to happen, its fans will be informed in due time.
