After a one-year break due to restrictions on public events imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, HONEY FESTIVAL 2022 brings together honey and bee producers from the region and neighboring centers with beekeeping traditions, representatives of Bulgarian crafts and guests. The thirteenth anniversary of the Festival, which is a joint initiative of the State Enterprise “Radioactive Waste” and the association of beekeepers from the region of Kozloduy, will be held on May 13 and 14 in the familiar format, but in a changed environment – in the newly opened Information Center for Decommissioning. The two-day program of the event includes the traditional exhibition of polyfloral honey, bee products, certified author’s production of medical and cosmetic products based on bee products, as well as tasting of various types of honey. Guests will have the opportunity to try cakes made with natural amber and mastery of women from the retirement club “Turlashka neighborhood”.

The visitors will also see collections of art objects made in the spirit of Bulgarian crafts – traditional fabrics, painted glass and decoupage, handmade candles and jewelry and many more.

The potter’s wheel of master Kuman Zhekov from the Vratsa Ethnographic Complex will show live the magic of working with clay and the process of creating things from historical, ancient and household ceramics, and the master potter and chairman of the Northwestern Association of Old Craftsmen will give speech for the curious guests about the history of ceramics in the Bulgarian lands.
