The event once again confirmed proved an important fact – the presence existence of bees is an indication of clean nature.

This year’s 15th edition of the traditional event, organized by State Enterprise “Radioactive Waste” (SE RAW) and supported by the beekeepers beekeeping societies from the Kozloduy region – Honey Festival, took place with the usual festive mood that filled the numerous visitors and guests. It was held on 23 and 24 February 23 and 24, and the Information Centre building of the Enterprise Information Center building hosted 40 producers of honey and bee products, as well as craftsman craftsmen and practitioners keeping or interpreting the Bulgarian tradition with a variety of art techniques.
,,For me it is a great pride andI am particularly honor proud to welcome the producers of honey and bee products for another year in a row, because we all are aware that your presence here is solid proof that the nature is clean and the earth has a future”, – said so Dilyan Petrov, the SERAW Executive Director, of SE RAW in his welcoming speech. “It is a pleasure to also congratulate the craftsmean and representatives of various occupationscrafts, showing the guests products that could not be seen anywhere else. I wish you good sound health and happiness in life!”
Among the official guests were also representatives of the SE RAW management, of the “WIN  WiN Association organisation – Women in the Nuclear Industry”, as well as local authority representatives of the local authorities in the municipalities of Kozloduy and Mizia, and the mayor Marinela Nikolova personally expressed her joy delight at the while meeting with the participants: “I am glad that I have the opportunity to congratulate you on the occasion of the fifteenth edition of the Honey Festival. You have turned this event in to a tradition for our town and we all look forward to it. Thanks to the Festival, the beekeepers and craftsmen have a great opportunity to show their work to the public. I wish success to everyone!”.
The transition from the official opening to the beginning of the event was made by the second graders from the local Hristo Botev Secondary School “Hristo Botev” – The Reactive Bees, and every single one of them pointed out to the guests one benefit of the liquid gold of the bees.
The effort ambition of the Festival accompanying related programme of the Festival to contribute aid with an up-to-date and useful specialiszed information was highly appreciated by the beekeepers, who listened with undivided attention to the lectures on topics “Varroatosis in bee families – prevention and treatment ” and “Honey bees – an indicator of the presence of radioactivity” ofn guest lecturer Assistant Professor, PhD, Dr. Koyicho Koev, Ddirector of the Risk Assessment Centere on Food Chain at with the Ministry of Health Agriculture and Science Food and professor university lecturer at in the Thrace University, Stara Zagora. The little-known in Bulgaria apitherapy with using beehive air also aroused provoked special interest – Mladen Nikolov, who has aan experience with a bee house in the village of Yarlovitsa, explained in detail about it. “For another year, we were got ourselves convinced that the Honey Festival is a very much-welcomed desirable event for the people of Kozloduy, a large part of whom were looking forward to it and were a part of it”, – said Tsvetan Yovov from the Beekeepers’ Association and a participant in the Honey Festival from the very beginning of creating the event. “I would personally want like to emphasize personally my impressions of with the accompanying related programme, which, in my opinion, was one of the best in the recent years. Assistant Professor, PhD, Koycho Koev Associate Professor Koev gave an extremely useful lecture on varroatosisVarroatosis -– “…at a very high level and with facts that we, the beekeepers, were not sufficiently familiar with. It was of great benefit to us. The topic of the bee as an indicator of the presence of radioactivity was mostly in favorfavour of the visitors for the simple reason that it is normal for one to wonder if the honey can could be clean if there arein the case of existing nuclear facilities nearby. This was very well presentedwell-presented information with an important conclusion – the presence of bees is an indication that there is no danger to human health. The presentation on apitherapy was also very valuable, and I think that this practice is about to gain wide popularity.”
With special attention to one of the most special guests of the 2024 Honey Festival 2024, a children’s creative workshop was organized, where under the guidance of Neda Licheva,  – an artist and ceramicist from Troyan, the children “sealed” their emotions from the day by drawing on small pitchers, white stones and leaves. “I am very happy that we attended this wonderful Honey Festival and met all of you! With a smile on my faceface, I am telling the people here in Troyan, about your team, the organization of the holidayfestival-related arrangements, about the volunteers and last, but not least – about your talented children! Thank you very much for the invitation to this wonderful event!”, Neda Licheva shared her impressions after the end of the two-day celebration.
Hosting the 2024 Honey Festival 2024 – precisely exactly with an uplifted mood and positive vibes, relieds exclusively on the volunteers from the Center for Personal Development Support Centre -– Municipal Children’s Complex, Kozloduy, who for another year in a row supported its organization arrangements with through their dedication.
