On 7 March, 2013, a group of Ministry of Defense (MOD) officers were on a visitation at the SD PRRAW – Novi Han.
The Delegation included specialists from the nuclear, chemical, biological defense and ecological divisions in MOD and Bulgarian Army.
The purpose of the visitation was the introduction with the installations, procedures and technologies related to the RAW management and radiation protection as part of the improvement of the military professional experience in the field of the ionizing radiation sources.
For many years the MOD and SERAW have successfully been performing joint activities on the management of RAW, owned by MOD and Bulgarian Army.
The partnership between MOD and SERAW is planned to continue and through the current year with a training of MOD specialists and military schools cadets in the radiochemical and physics laboratories of SD PRRAW – Novi Han. The military representatives have expressed their interest in visiting the installation again on the Open Day during the autumn. They will also make a visit during the next year for the Repository’s 50th anniversary.
