SERAW presented its corporate calendar for 2024

29.12.2023

For the sixteenth year in a row, at the end of December, State Enterprise Radioactive Waste showcased its creative calendar, the content of which is generated by author’s photos of employees from all Specialized Divisions, who had taken part in the traditional internal corporate photo contest. The theme that shaped the layout of the Enterprise’s calendar for the coming year 2024 and presented 37 interesting structures from all over the country, was “Old bridges – a message of connectivity”. Among them, the most attractive for the photographers were the Tsar Boris III stone bridge in Veliko Tarnovo, the Dyavolski most (‘Devil’s Bridge’) over the Arda River, as well as the characteristic bridges of the Bulgarian National Revival in Lovech, Byala, Sevlievo and Dryanovo, the work of the legendary architect and builder, the renowned master builder of the national architecture, Kolyu Ficheto. The theme for bridges sparked a competition between a total of 86 photographs submitted by 18 participants.
The professional opinion of the jury voted as winner the photo of Teodor Pironkov from the Information Centre, capturing the bridge over the Ogosta River at sunset, connecting the village of Glozhene with the town of Mizia. The second place was awarded to the photo of Plamen Kotlarov for the Kivgiren Bridge in Tryavna, and the Kadin Bridge in the Municipality of Nevestino awarded Maya Saykova with the prize for the third place in the contest. The jury also awarded special prizes to five of the participants – for landscape, for overall light intensity in the scene and for symbolism and mood in the photos.
The authors of the photos were awarded at a special ceremony in the Information Centre for Decommissioning. The awards were presented by Margarita Korkinova, Deputy Executive Director of Finance, Administration and Security, who, in her address, made a symbolic analogy between the theme of the contest and the connectedness in a community of the individual divisions in SERAW, located in three geographical points of Bulgaria. Online participants in the traditional event were also employees of the Enterprise from the Head Office in Sofia and from Specialized Division Permanent Repository for RAW – Novi han.
The event ended with a video blessing by the little carolers in 3B grade of Hristo Botev High School, Kozloduy.
