The magic of the wild flowers was the headline of the internal photography contest of State Enterprise Radioactive Waste throughout the 2014. The topic roused the greatest interest ever in the seven years history of the event. 25 participants from all divisions of the company sent their unique pictures. The pictures compiled a large collection of rare and endemic wild flowers.
The results of the contest were announced at the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays. First prize was awarded to Georgi Uzunov from the International Projects Division for the master macro picture of Drosera Rotundofolia – one of the six carnivorous plants in Bulgaria. Second and third prizes were awarded respectively to Plamen Radovanov and Sergey Mikheykin from the same unit. The jury gave also few encouragement and special prizes, and all participants received awards with the appreciation for their contribution to the preparation of the SERAW’s calendar and the book “Wild orchids in Bulgaria” with a personal address and autograph from its author – Mihaela Yordanova. Joint gift, a basket with spring flowers bulbs, was given to the team of SD PR RAW – Novi Han, which had the most participants in the contest and at the same time was the host of the ceremony. On the pages of the artistic calendar of the company’s employees, we see pictures of Dactylorhiza cordigera, Glandular Globe-thistle, Jasione montana, Dianthus superbus, Lunaria, Ajuga reptans, Anemone hepatica, Globeflower and many more wild flowers most of which are protected species.
The new challenge for the photographers of SERAW is called Eternity: the SOld Bulgarian houses – the headline of the 2015 photo-contest.
