SE RAW is to host a IAEA workshop for decommissioning of nuclear units

In the period between 27th and 31st of May 2013, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducts in Bulgaria a regional workshop with subject – Decommissioning of NPP with WWER reactor types.

Participants are experts from Germany, Norway, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania, Hungary, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Slovakia and representatives of IAEA. From the Bulgarian side, a group of managers and experts from State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SE RAW) join the workshop by presenting the experience of the Enterprise on the main subject in few presentations. Also representatives of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency and the nongovernment organization BULATOM take part in the event.

The forum was opened by the director of Decommissioning Directorate in SE RAW – Georgi Gyoshev.

The last two days, the workshop will take place in Kozloduy, where the participants will visit the shutdown NPP’s units in order to be introduced with the progress of the dismantling works, which are part of the SE RAW’s commitment.
