On 15th and 16th of February, the Honey Celebration 2013 will take place. This year, it will be the fifth anniversary, which will be marked with a two days exhibition unlike the past years, when the Celebration was in one day.
The program of the Honey Celebration 2013 consists of: exhibition of poly-floral honey and bee products from the region of Kozloduy; representative stand of Thracian and Rhodopian alpine honey; medicinal and cosmetic products, created on honey product basis; artistic-applied products by creative workshop from Sliven; textile, martenitsas, products of handmade paper. During the Celebration, the visitors will have the opportunity to receive detailed information about the healthful qualities of the honey and the honey products, and for the youngest guests, participation in demonstration of weaving techniques is planned.
The event is a joint initiative of State Enterprise Radioactive Waste and the bee-keepers associations in Kozloduy. The initiative is aimed at showing that the presence of installations for radioactive waste management does not hinder the production and the successful market realization of bee honey in the region of Kozloduy. Traditionally the Celebration is accepted very well by the citizens and the guests of Kozloduy.
Within the framework of the exhibition, a meeting-discussion is planned about the perspectives of the bee-keeper branch in the light of the National and European programs for promotion of honey production. According to the bee-keepers from the region, the meeting in 2012 was extremely useful. As a result of the last-year discussion, an idea was born, Bulgarian honey and honey products to be presented in Brussels and the initiative was realized successfully in the beginning of December 2012 with the participation of local producers.
