Twenty manufacturers of honey and honey products and applied-arts items were gathered by the Honey Celebration in Kozloduy. The event took place on 6^th and 7^th of February 2015 – on the eve of day that honors the beekeepers patron St. Haralampi (10 February). The Celebration – a joint initiative of the SE RAW and the associations of beekeepers in the region of Kozloduy, was held for a seventh year in a row. Almost 1500 people visited the exhibition, tried some honey and learned a lot of useful information about the medical and prevention features of the honey products. The celebration was officially opened by the executive director of SERAW – Dilyan Petrov with the words: I am glad that also this year we continue and strengthen the tradition of our company and we gather the producers of honey from the region to demonstrate their product so we could be a benefactor for the people. The Chairman of the beekeepers Association in Kozloduy – Tsvetan Yovov also welcomed the visitors with wishes for success of the Event and rich harvest.

As part of the accompanying programme of this year’s event issue, there was a exhibition in the lobby of the Community Centre Hr. Botev – 1879 with drawings under the title Hey, busy bee (“Hey, pchelichke lekokrila”) of young preschool artists from Kozloduy municipality. Senior club “Golden Autumn” from the village of Butan presented a gastronomy exhibition of honey sweets and cakes which were highly appreciated by the participants of the meeting-discussion about the propolis features with the special guest – Prof. Vasya Bankova. The children of the Centre for Personality Development – Baraka and representatives of the Association of the Women in the Nuclear Industry (WiN-Bulgaria) contributed for the realisation of the event as volunteers.

And do not know what else to say but one big thank you! This festival becomes a tradition indeed and it is wonderful. It was nice – for us as well as for the townsfolk. We had visitors, which shows that absolute everything is up to the level and this we thank to the organization of SERAW, and we only support them. Thank you!

I want to thank to SERAW, because each year they organize such a great exhibition and I want to greet them for that that because of them, we – the beekeepers, and also the citizens of Kozloduy have the opportunity to meet a lot of interesting people.  The meeting with Bulgarian representatives in the European Parliament that was organized some time ago within the Celebration was of a great meaning for us. As a result of our joint work so far, we – the beekeepers from the whole country have the opportunity up to the European standards.
