For the seventh consecutive year, producers of honey and bee products will gather in Kozloduy for the Honey Celebration – a joint initiative of the SE RAW and the associations of beekeepers in the region of the Danube municipality.
The event will take place on the 6th and 7th of February 2015, on the eve of the St. Haralampy’s Day – patron of the beekeepers. The honey producers will present their best selection from the last year’s harvest and will tell visitors about the subtleties of beekeeping and the beneficial health effects of the use of honey and bee products. This topic will be the focus of a meeting with a BAS Associate Member, prof. Vasya Bankova – a scientist with 30 years of experience in the study of the properties of  the propolis in Bulgaria and worldwide. Everyone willing to hear details can visit the event (part of the Festival’s programme) which will take place in the Community Centre “Hr. Botev – 1879″ starting at 12:00. In the lobby of the Centre, you will be able to see an exhibition of children’s drawings under the title “Hey, busy bee” (“Hey, pchelichke lekokrila”) and to try some gastronomy prepared by the masters of the senior club “Golden Autumn” from the village of Butan.
As part of the tradition established, the both days of the exhibition will be attended by authors of handmade arts who prepare new collections specifically for the Honey Celebration 2015. The Festival has a place reserved for a stand with specialised literature.
Cup of hot tea with honey awaits every visitor, as well as a lottery, quiz and other pleasant surprises.
