More than 500 books were collected as a result from the initiative re-established by SERAW for the donation of old books from the personal libraries for the community centres in the municipality of Kozloduy under the motto – New life for the old books. Partner of the initiative is the WiN organization – Women in the Nuclear industry – Bulgaria which popularized the campaign among its members. The initiative collected 546 books among which there are editions not only in Bulgarian but in Russian and English.
The first additions to the library collections were realized on 14 December: 121 books were donated to the community centre in Butan, 150 books were added in the Buditel community centre in Kriva Bara and 38 books supplemented the library of Hristo Botev high-school in Kozloduy. The books are of various genre content – fictions from Bulgarian and foreign authors, textbooks and scientific literature, valuable encyclopedias and books of reference. The remaining books collected will be distributed in cultural and educational institutions in the region of Kolzoduy at the beginning of the next year.
